Sometimes I am surprised that my audiences are paying as much attention as they are. Of course not all of them are participating. Another angle is to have only a few participate in the backchannel and then make that available to the entire group. Often, I have only the tech savvy educators in a group backchannel, and then the rest of the teachers have access, learning something about their support staff, and their instructional leanings and capabilities. </span> - dfw

We all continue to learn, even before there was an Internet. I could talk about my personal learning network, back when I was teaching and had never touched a personal computer. But I couldn't have have talked about it back then. It's being self-aware of the learning that we do that will help us to transition from teaching students how to be taught to teaching them how to teach themselves. </span> - dfw

But someone heard me mention PLNs during the teacher presentation I did a while back for GCS, and wanted me to talk about it with you guys. It's a hard thing to teach, to describe, because the most important part of the acronym is the "P." PLNs are personal more than anything else. </span> - dfw
